If you aren't sure if your family would qualify as low income or not, don't worry. Check the low income box anyhow. That means you will get the names and phone numbers of organizations that might help with your problem. If you call these organizations, they can tell you for sure whether or not you qualify for their help. Not all organizations use the same standards, and sometimes there are exceptions for particular kinds of cases.
Pine Tree Legal Assistance and the Volunteer Lawyers Project can generally only help people whose income is 125% of the federal poverty level or less. People whose income is up to 150% of the poverty level can make some deductions that might make them eligible. If you have a case they might help with, call them and find out if they can help.
